Le D850 est un reflex plein format : capteur CMOS de 35,9 × 23,9 mm et 45,7 millions de pixels effectifs, processeur EXPEED 5, monture Nikon F. L'obturateur mécanique couvre 1/8000 à 30 s, la sensibilité 64 à 25 600 ISO extensibles de 32 à 102 400 ISO, et le module Multi-CAM 20K répartit 153 points AF dont 99 en croix.
Le viseur à pentaprisme montre 100 % du champ à 0,75×. La rafale tient 7 vps et la vidéo s'arrête à 3840 × 2160 en 30p, les ralentis passant par les modes 1080 à 30p ×4. Avec environ 1840 vues par charge selon la norme CIPA, une journée de prise de vue ne réclame pas de second accumulateur.
Deux points avant de commander. Les 9 vps supposent un accumulateur EN-EL18c dans la poignée MB-D18 : la poignée seule, alimentée par l'EN-EL15a du boîtier, laisse la cadence à 7 vps. Et le premier logement attend des cartes XQD, pas des SD ; seul le second accepte le SD UHS-II.

Warranty and after-sales service
Nikon commercial warranty: 24 months from the invoice date, covering manufacturing defects.
